New signs of life!

The Christian writer Wayne Grudem says that worship is the activity of glorifying God in his presence. Dr. Sam Storms goes further, saying that worship is not simply about glorifying God. It is about glorifying God by enjoying him.

What do you think of that idea ? What do you think of the idea that God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him ? In other words do you agree that the degree of pleasure that you take in knowing Jesus is the degree to which you treasure him ? Think about the following little parable that Jesus told:

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

When the man found the treasure what was his first reaction ? Joy! Excitement ! Pleasure ! Have you responded to Jesus in that way ? If you have, you will know what I mean when I say that worship is about glorifying God by enjoying him. If you haven’t, then keep digging ! The treasure is there to be found.
