PATHFINDERS

Pathfinders is a group for Year 7-9 (ages 11-14). We work through different subjects each week and relate them to our lives at school, work or wherever we find ourselves.

Recently we have been discovering about Daniel. He was a man who stood by his God in the face of everything that was happening around him and eventually got respect for it. Does that sound like today? Whilst everything else in this world is telling our children to go this way, God, who has the perfect plan for us, instructs us to go the other. So, as you can see, relevant issues are addressed. We try to shy away from school (as in operating the way a school is run) and spend more time having fun.
The aim of the group is for young people to relate to God in day-to-day life both at home and at school.

So where and when is it?

It takes place in Holy Rood Church upstairs in Room 3 on Sunday morning at 0930. (It sounds early but it's OK by the time you get there)! We normally start after the first 15 minutes of church.

We have a group of fantastic leaders who aim to:
  • get the Young People to talk about things affecting them
  • interact with the Young People
  • get across that church is fun (NO WAY!), and most importantly
  • convey to them that no matter what happens in school or at home God loves them.
We also teach those who are Christians more of what God wants for their lives. As you can imagine there is a balance to be kept here and this is challenging.
If you have any queries please don't hesitate to contact the leaders through the church office.
