The Crofton Mothers' Union celebrates its 112th Anniversary in November 2003 and has 44 mothers.

MOTHER' UNION OBJECTIVES

• To uphold Christ's teaching on the nature of marriage and promote its wider understanding
• To encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of the Church.
• To maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service.
• To promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children
• To help those whose family life has met with adversity.

• A Literacy and Development Programme which is being piloted in areas of great disadvantage and need: Barundi, Sudan and Malawi.
• providing 'away from it all' holidays for families under stress.
• Campaigning and lobbying on worldwide issues, such as parental rights, international debt relief and child poverty.

MEETINGS
We meet in the Holy Rood Church Centre on the first Tuesday of each month, (except August) at 2 p.m. with a wide programme of speakers and discussions.
Corporate Communion is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10.30 am in Holy Rood.

WHO CAN JOIN THE MOTHER'S UNION
If you are baptised and believe in the importance of family life, we would we would love you to join the Mothers' Union. Women and men, married and unmarried, parent or not - all can and do, join the M.U.
The M.U. is involved in campaigning and lobbying on world-wide issues, such as parental rights, international debt relief and child poverty. We are please to work in partnership with organisations such as PLAN International, Hope UK, The United Nations and various other ecumenical groups.
