Crofton Parish sets itself annual goals that are SMART: i.e. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timed.
Crofton PCC Goals for 2008/9
I have only included goals which could be described as PCC / parish goals as they either have resourcing implications or across-the-church implications as opposed to those which apply to more specific ministries.
Discipleship
- Encourage a more open attendance at Pastorates
- Promote the use of the ‘Life Group’ material through Sunday teaching series
- Encourage, where appropriate, small groups follow up on Sunday teaching, through notes and downloads.
Mission
- Consider how we might become a resource church for other churches eg Alpha
- Explore options for a Ghana trip Oct. ’09, possibly including young people
- Invite a Fresh Expressions consultant to help with a review of Café Church
- Encourage and support new areas of outreach in men’s ministry
- Revive our outreach to the elderly in residential care homes by ensuring that every Homegroup is involved.
Pastoral care
- Create a network of visitors / practical helpers available to the Pastoral Team.
- Encourage the use of the Acorn Healing Service
- Evaluate ways to welcome and integrate newcomers and encourage the use of pastoral links
Prayer and worship
- To revive the gift of prophecy through teaching and communication about process of discernment.
- To create opportunities to keep prayer at heart of the vision discerning process
- To provide opportunities for people in the local community to seek prayer support from the church
Resources
- Develop a website as a tool for teaching and mission in download.
- Strengthen PA and AV teams at Holy Rood and deliver more training
- Balance the budget through the stewardship campaign / fundraising
Youth and children
- Review the use of Kingsway Children’s Ministry Sunday school materials
- Deliver in-house training to make it more locally accessible
- Deliver activities eg. light party and live nativity that can complement the regular children’s ministry
- Aim to establish a schools team to pray for, help out & go into Crofton school
- Consider how we can support parents as they raise teenagers
